Luscious Living Biography
Kim McMechan grew up in the suburbs of Kamloops BC, where she played in a rather sad looking tree house, pretended she was a famous synchronized swimmer in the back yard pool, and did air bands to the Minipops in front of the hallway mirror. She didn't much care for the suburbs, but fortunately, she had some hills to play in at the top of the street, and she escaped there when she could, picking Black-Eyed Susans and wandering the dusty paths.
After leaving the nest, Kim moved to Winnipeg, where she studied creative writing at the University of Manitoba and dusted off some of her musical ambitions. These were joyful years tainted only by a terrible headache that came and stayed for a year and a half. Many doctor, allergist and chiropractor visits later, she came to learn that the cause of the headache was emotional stress and soon, she succeeded in healing herself through writing.

This experience launched a series of guided-journaling workshops which she began to teach locally and which soon had her flying across Canada and into the US to facilitate to larger groups. Since then, Kim McMechan has taught over 120 of her workshops across North America in schools, retreats, arts centers and living rooms.
The group workshops naturally evolved into one-on-one sessions, and Kim now takes on individuals as a Personal and Creative Life Coach. Her coaching stems from a wealth of knowledge she's accumulated over the years on topics such as time-management, creative recovery and life balance, while still retaining the intuitive, creative slant of her successful workshops. Drawing on her experiences as a wife, mother, free-lance writer, working artist and recovering perfectionist/procrastinator, Kim seeks to support others who long to live their lives in more conscious and creative ways.
When not working, Kim can also be found performing live music, riding her bike along the water, and pushing her 2 little girls on the swings at the park. She currently lives in Kelowna, BC, Canada.
